Note:

One of two songs, written for Brooklyn Youth Chorus with playwright Max Posner, as a meditation on memory and age. In many of the speaker's experiences, they were quiet when everybody around them was loud. In one section of the piece the speaker describes being part of a youth chorus. But even then, they admit, "I just mouthed all the words." As long-lost memories come flooding back, the music gives voice to things left unsaid long ago.
