Note:

This piece was commissioned for Chelsea Lane's first album, and consists of two short studies for harp and viola, both employing the musical concept of suspensions. The first movement focuses on melodic suspensions, with lopsided rhythmic figurations that bridge between harmonic pillars. The second is focused on rhythmic suspensions— little shocks and absorptions, the harp becoming a steady current with the viola floating high above.
